We are chaos, though we are order.
We are order, though we are in chaos.
The cat was seen as a demon,
though it was peacefull.
What you don't understand,
you can hate.
What you can learn,
you can love.
We are, though we are not.
We have a foot in each camp.
We are mad,
though we are smart.
We are chaos in order,
and order in chaos.
This is my thoughts aspergers syndrom.

now, i don't have autism, but a kid at my school does. he's honestly one of the best writors i've ever seen, and i just want to sock someone in the face when others talk about how he's 'different,' or look at him as if he's inferior to them. it's sick.

either way, this is a beautiful poem. nice rhythm.

This is really nice. I have autism (high-functioning, but I personally don't care for such labels), and it really isn't as bad as most people think. There are autistics that can't function quite as well, but they mostly feel annoyed that people won't respect them just because they have the disorder. Thusly we are an oppressed minority that everyone without the disorder considers infantile and below them, and it's awful since we an be just as brilliant as anyone else, just in different ways. And as for the notion of "curing" autism, most people for curing it hate us just for being different and don't understand that a neurological disorder cannot be cured without cutting portions out of the brain. And what part of the brain does autism culminate in? The frontal lobe. Cutting out the frontal lobe means you are lobotomizing them. And that basically means you're killing them. So when someone says they want a cure, all I hear is them telling us to die. And for what reason? Because we act differently, we need a little more help. So they only look at us as furniture, only useful if we prove to be, not because we exist.

Heheh, either way, I loved this poem, it's very well written and inspiring.

It's crazy how many times television has used autism as a type of 'insanity'. Heck, I can't even watch CSI or any other crime show without having to watch a 'crazy' kid being locked up just for being eccentric.

Those shows that shine autism under the light of insanity, those crime shows, are all my parents watch. So when they found out that I had this quote on quote 'Insanity', they never looked at me the same again. Now I rarely get treated as a normal person.......... fuck TV.

Well played.
My brother is eiher High Fuctioning Austistic or Aspergers. I can't quite rmember because the deffinition is evolving for each.
He was diagnosed when he was 12, he is now 25. I was only 2 years old then. I've been helping care for my brother for the last 2 years, as he lives with the family again.
I love my brother dearly, even though it get's very frustrating. I call my brother my "big baby brother" which he enjoys for some reason.
Thank you for posting this poem. It's a good light in the dark.

I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago, being 15.
I was happy enough to have some sort of an excuse, to begin with. . but then I just got frustrated. . I just need to know where everything comes from, the whys and hows are more important to me than giving something a name, and gthere is no real explanation i guess. . I sometimes wish I was diagnosed earlier but i don';t quite know now.

I was diagnosed at around 13, and was put in a special class in a school that was a little over an hours drive from where I lived. There was more focus on the social aspect than the schooling itself, indirectly they said that as we would not be able to get jobs, they focused more on the social. But that really p*ssed of both me and my mum because I was really good in my classes from my former school.
It was almost as if I had gotten this sticker on my forehead, saying be careful and make all the decisions for her(me). I have my meanings and a right to live my life as I want to. Sorry if it sounds as if I'm ranting(which I am). I hope that you will have it a bit easier than me, and wish you luck.

Yeah, I know how you mean. It's not like anyone changes, it's just a different way to label us .. it shouldn't change how we're treated ><
I agree with you wholeheartedly, and am just hoping that everyone in my family will stop treating me like some bomb ready to go off ><
thankyou ^_^

I love this poem :D It really puts into words what us Autistes/Aspies are :) Seeing this is a breath of fresh among all the "Autism/Aspergers is terrible"; "your life is over if you have Autism/Aspergers"; "people with Autism/Aspergers are evil" (no we are not :( ); and the most annoying one ever "Cure Autism". What you have written proves that Autism/Aspergers is part of who we are and not what we have and we certainly don't need cured for just being ourselves :) I give this deviation :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: x1000000 :aww:

Thank you.
I get really angry whenever I read or hear about anyone saying that aspergers are evil.
And I really truly hate cure autism, it's alright if the person doesn't want to be aspergers, but it should always be of free will to say so, and not because of coercion.

I myself am proud to be different.
Of cause there are times when I wish everything wasn't so confusing. But I would never let anybody try to "cure" my aspergers.

You're very welcome  I'm glad you're able to let your Aspergers make you a stronger person inside :) I have a couple of t-shirts for when I feel the need to stand up and tell the world to stick it when it comes to people being against me because I'm autistic ;) One says "Aspie and Proud" and the other one says "What? Is my Aspergers showing?" *lol*

Ehm, high-funtioning autism and Aspergers is not the same thing. Classic autists can be high-functioning just as well.

Of course, it's just that when one thinks about aspergers, one think automaticaly about high-funtioning autism. It's very hard to seperate the two.
Of course there are other kinds of high-funtioning autism among the classic aautists. It's the beauty about autism, we are just as different from each other as the neurotypical(normal people) are.

Did you know that there has been talk about that aspergers might not even be autism, but it's own kind as a whole.
I find that kind of info quite interesting.

Very well said. You named what Autism is exactly to the point. My sister has Autism since she was three months old. It's very difficult to live with, but I still love her and I would do everything in my might to protect her. Thats what famile does, no matter what they have.

One is born with autism, so she can't have gotten it at 3 months. She might have been found out to be autistic at three months, but one is born into it. There are alway difficulties when it comes to autism, but there are also many good sides to it. But I guess it all depends on what type of autism.
And it is good that you do everything to protect her. Family means alot to me even if I have aspergers, I always needed an escape from the bullying at school when I was little, and it was a true blessing to have a family that loves you. So keep on giving her your support. :)

I would have to say it's severe, but every test we make her do is normal ^^;
So to tell you the truth, it could be in the middle, She does kinda well when we go out. It's just when were at home she's evil~! :XD:
She is cute though when she has a laugh attack~! :iconblushingplz:

One of my favorite things to do is to get people to make WTF-faces, either by saying something that they can't counter-attack, or just by surprising them. I just loooove that face.
